Gilda’s Club is a free nonprofit organization that makes available emotional and social support community for people living with cancer, and their families and friends. It is named in memory of Gilda Radner, known best for her work on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. She succumbed to ovarian cancer in 1989.
Men, women, children, friends and families affected by cancer attend activities to discover how to live with cancer whatever the outcome.
Support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events all are part of our “support community.” Our programs section shares more.
All programs and services are free of charge for anyone attending Gilda’s Club activities at any of our locations.
No, Gilda’s Club is for men, women and children with all types of cancer as well as their family members and friends.
Although a doctor or healthcare professional can make a referral, self-referral or contact by family and friends is encouraged. See our “join section” to become a member.
Not at all. Being respectful and welcoming to all people touched by cancer with diverse backgrounds and perspectives is one of Gilda’s Club Memphis’ core values. We invite members to be themselves in an environment that welcomes humor, honors learning and encourages meaningful connections with others.
Private individuals, corporations, and foundations have provided enormous direct and in-kind support of Gilda’s Club Memphis. And, importantly, every dollar raised in the Memphis and the Mid-South remains right here in our community.
Gilda’s Club Memphis is supported by a distinguished Professional Advisory Board comprised of health professionals from area hospitals and clinics.
